'Thor 3' Movie Release Date, Plot & Rumors: Chris Hemsworth Gets Replaced?

The "Thor 3" movie may still be far away from being in the works but it is one of the many Marvel sequel movies that are highly talked about lately.

Hallels.com wrote about the news that Chris Hemsworth might be replaced with a female although such information still remains a rumor. The Aussie actor mentioned once that he surely hopes for a third movie but does not know any details about it yet.

If "Thor 3" will push through with a female lead handling the mighty hammer, then the rumored name likely to play the part is Katee Sackhoff.

The rumors were triggered more when leaked photos that seemed like posters of the movie with speculated release dates started emerging online, states Christian Post.

Among the rumored release dates for "Thor 3" falls on May 5, 2017. However, there have been no official announcements made yet for to confirm such speculations.

Den of Geek speculated that the famous hero god of thunder will make his comeback on the big screen on the said date. The site added that it could be a strong opening for Marvel in the summer season as "Thor" has already been a proven franchise with a good track record at the box office.

As for the "Thor 3" cast rumors, the same names will be back to reprise their roles except that of Odin played by veteran actor Anthony Hopkins. If his character will still be seen in the third franchise, then it could be only for a cameo.

Plot details for the anticipated comic book movie includes Loki falling in love with the Enchantress who is also one of the main nemesis in the story. Surtur may also make a comeback so as to eradicate Asgard.

KDramaStars added that the third "Thor" film will also follow the Ragnarok storyline. Accordig to various comics experts, if this turns out to be true, then the character of Tony Stark might be in the third installment too. However, this could only lead to more questions as to which Ragnarok Marvel will use for the third "Thor" movie.

Whatever the real "Thor 3" release date is, it has already been confirmed that Marvel is pushing through with the movie since Marvel has already hired writers for the future project, stated Screen Crush.

One of the writers include Marvel's former senior VP for Production and Development Craig Kyle who is also one of the writers on board "Thor: The Dark World," reported The Wrap.

Apart from the "Thor 3" rumored release date, Marvel also released a list of scheduled releases during the most recent Comic-Con according to VCPost.
