"The Expendables 3" star, Jason Statham, risked his life while filming the movie, and it was his excellent diving skills that ultimately saved his life.
According to Mirror UK, the actor plunged right into a 60ft deep sea level when the brakes of a three-ton truck he was test driving got broken.
It was action star, Sylvester Stallone, who revealed how Statham survived the accident.
The "Rocky" star thinks that if all of the cast were inside the truck, they may not have been lucky.
"We would have drowned. But because Jason is an Olympic-quality diver he got out of it," the 68-year-old Stallone said.
Not many knew that Statham used to be an expert diver. He competed once for England during the 1990 Commonwealth Games held in Auckland, New Zealand, states Business-Standard.
As a young kid, he has mixed passion both for football and diving. In his Wiki profile, it was mentioned how he used to practice on a daily basis just to master various diving techniques. He eventually became a member of Britain's National Diving Squad for twelve years.
"The Transporter" actor finished with the rank of 8th in the 1-metre springboard category having earned 487.26 points. He also ranked 11th in the categories of 10-metre platform along with the 3-metre springboard, recalls Fashion Times.
He was first discovered as a model but got his big break in the entertainment industry with the 1998 movie "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels."
On the other hand, Statham went to China to promote the "The Expendables 3," reports Global Times.
Aside from having visited the country for the first time, the 47-year-old actor is reportedly interested to play a lead role for a Chinese action movie.
He has worked with Hong Kong director Corey Yuan and acted alongside Taiwanese actress, Shu Qi on the hit action flick ,"The Transporter."
"The Expendables 3" cast include Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mel Gibson, Wesley Snipes, Harrison Ford, Antonio Banderas and a lot more.
The movie is set to hit the big screen on August 15, 2014.
