It was one passionate night for the week 2 of Dancing With The Stars Season 17 as the main theme was focused on Latin dances. However, it was also the night of the first elimination for the brand new season.
So who is the first celebrity that was shown the door out? According to USA Today, the host Tom Bergeron explained that the votes garnered for the night's performances will be carried on for the scores next week. But with regards to how it went on its second week, here goes.
Glee's Amber Riley once again became one of the lead stars of the night. One of the judges mentioned Riley has to improve some of her footwork but overall it was still terrific. The Glee star even did a cartwheel.
It all went good too for Corbin Bleu and his partner Karina Smirnoff who was able to somehow reprise his High School Musical days. His performance went second to Riley's. Other contestants did as good in general but with Snooki dropping in the ranks and Bill Nye surprised everyone with his crazy wig.
As for the one who went home? It was ex-NFL star Keyshawn Johnson and partner Sharna Burgess. ABC Local reports that the two supported each other all the way, with Johnson appreciating all the time that his partner spent on teaching him while Sharna on the other hand admired the persevering character of Johnson.
"I had the great experience. I think Sharna is amazing in terms of a choreographer. I think that her time will come in terms of getting to the next level for her. That's really all I really cared about. I wanted her to succeed more than me," Johnson said.
It must have been tough for the player to travel from Connecticut to LA every week just for the show. But his partner definitely brought a lot of funk to their performance.
The rest of the 11 DWTS Season 17 couples will get to perform various dance styles by next Monday.
