New Zealand hitmaker, Lorde, is set to play a big part in the upcoming "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" movie's soundtrack.
After all the recent awards that the 17-year-old singer-songwriter has achieved, here comes another project that will add another feather to her cap.
Lorde will not only take care of the "Hunger Games" movie's lead single; she is also tasked to curate the entire album completely, MTV reports.
It can be recalled that her cover version of the Tears for Fears original song, "Everybody Wants To Rule the World," was part of the soundtrack of the last installment movie of the film adaptation.
In a recent statement, Lorde admitted that she is excited to take on the huge responsibility. A part of her statement states, "The cast and story are an inspiration for all musicians participating and, as someone with cinematic leanings, being privy to a different creative process has been a unique experience. I think the soundtrack is definitely going to surprise people."
"Curating the soundtrack for such a hotly-anticipated film was a challenge but I jumped at the chance," Lorde added as reported by Sydney Morning Herald.
The "Royals" singer also shared the good news to 1.94 million Twitter followers.
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" movie director, Francis Lawrence, only has praises for the young artist.
"I sat down with Lorde on the set of Mockingjay this spring and I was immediately struck by how she so innately understood what we, as both fans and filmmakers, were trying to accomplish with the film," the famed movie director said, according to Daily Mail.
The highly anticipated movie adaptation stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Donald Sutherland, and many more.
The new movie installment will also star Hollywood A-lister, Julianne Moore, and the late veteran actor. Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Its official trailer showed J-Law as Katniss getting inside an underground bunker where Panem refugees are in hiding. She is set to hold up their cause after President Snow prohibits the use of the Mockingjay symbol to stop the rebellion.
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" movie is set to be released on November 21.
