Soccer player Neymar is set to return to the game this coming Aug. 18 after he announced that his back injury was "healing well."
It can be remembered that Neymar fractured his back during a game against Colombia for the World Cup quarterfinal. Reuters noted in a report that he was not allowed to play for the whole tournament because of that.
USA Today said in a report that before injuring his back, Neymar was still able to score four goals during his last five games in the World Cup. He was also reportedly one of the best performing players of the tournament since half of Brazil came from him, says the outlet.
"I am recovering bit by bit from the injury and I will arrive in Barcelona at 100 percent," Neymar said in a promotional trip to Japan and was quoted by Reuters as saying. He is set to return to Barca on Aug. 5.
He added that he wants to have a good season and help his team mates arrive with good results.
The player is in Japan to shoot a commercial, USA Today noted. He has made some TV appearances where young Japanese players were given the chance to ask him questions about soccer.
Reuters noted that Barca will play Mexican side Leon at the Nou Camp on Aug. 18 where winners will be given trophies named after the Catalan club's founder Joan Gamper. It added that the La Liga campaign will begin at home then proceed to Elch the following weekend.
According to The Guardian Braca ended last season "without major silverware" for the first time ever which led to the sacking of their coach Gerardo Martino who was replaced by former Spain and Barcelona midfielder Luis Enrique.
Under Enrique's leadership, the team has been undergoing rigorous training sessions as they prepare for a new season, Daily Mail mentioned in a report. It was added that their double sessions are meant to avoid the "trophy-less" season last year.
The team, according to Daily Mail, has had the England women's team observe and tell them how they work.
Daily Mail explained that the team is "desperate" to win the upcoming season in order to forget their disastrous loss in the World Cup.
Enrique will reportedly need to decide which player he needs to put in goal for the season noting that the team has yet to replace two stoppers that exited the Nou Camp last season.
