“Internet Challenges” have been around for some years, but recently they’ve experienced a change, veering a bit more towards stupidity -- and perhaps down right dangerous antics. Pouring alcohol on someone’s body and then lighting it on fire is an extremely easy way to sit in a hospital waiting room for six hours.
We’ve complied a list of the ‘Top 5” worst Internet challenges that can lead to serious harm for individuals and onlookers. It’s acceptable to chuckle at the videos, but please do not try any of these dangerous ideas out at home.
Fire Challenge
The fire challenge is for those lacking a fear of flames engulfing their bodies. Participants usually stand in the shower, with it already running, and then pour alcohol or other flammable substances over their bodies. A lighter is then used to set the substance ablaze, as the participant quickly ducks under the showerhead. As you can see, there are a million ways in which this challenge can go wrong. Panic is quick to set in and if there aren’t enough onlookers to assist you as you’re burning, you’re in for a world of hurt.
Hot Water Challenge
The hot water challenge is more a sadistic prank than anything. This includes boiling a pot of hot water and letting it cool a bit, before throwing it on someone’s back. In the video above it isn’t clear whether the participant asked for the challenge but either way he received third-degree burns from the ordeal.
Cinnamon Challenge
While this is one of the oldest challenges of the Internet, the cinnamon challenge can be extremely damaging to the participants lungs. The powder coating clogs the throat, and with little to no moisture left breathing can be constricted.
War Heads Challenge
Putting 50 or more Warheads in your mouth at once is a terrible idea. The citric acid housed in the candy can make your tongue and moth bleed while damaging taste buds.
Salt and Ice Challenge
Salt and ice mixed and held a person’s skin acts as frostbite. The skin will become yellow or discolored and remains for a week or more.
