Jessica Barrymore, half sister of Hollywood A-lister, Drew Barrymore, was discovered dead in a parked vehicle in National City, California.

According to E! Online, 47-year-old Jessica's lifeless body was found on Tuesday around six in the morning. Jessica would have celebrated her birthday on July 31.

A resident in the neighborhood, Marta Lopez, noticed that a car was blocking her driveway, and a woman was inside the vehicle. She told 10News that as she approached the vehicle, she saw a woman, who was laying on a reclined seat with an energy drink in between her legs. Lopez added that she saw white pills scattered on the passenger seat.

Another neighbor, Oscar Sandoval,  also saw Jessica's parked vehicle in the same location. He, however, thought that the passenger was just waiting for someone or sleeping inside the car.

"Charlie's Angels" star, Drew Barrymore, released a statement to US Weekly which says, "Although I only met her briefly, I wish her and her loved ones as much peace as possible and I'm so incredibly sorry for their loss."

Jessica worked for Petco, an animal supply store and co-workers attest how she is well-loved by most of her colleagues. One of her friends at work, Dawn Scott, described her as someone awesome and helpful since she would always put other people first above herself.

Drew and Jessica's father is John, and the latter's mother, Nina Wayne, is John's fourth wife. Yahoo UK celebrity news reported that Jessica was taking a Creative Arts course in San Diego and she visited her mom the day before the unfortunate situation transpired.

Another Yahoo article stated that Jessica was already cold and unresponsive when police authorities arrived. The car she was found dead in has already been impounded as further investigation is being conducted.

An autopsy will be performed and the official cause of Jessica's death wll be revealed in due time. There are indications though that she may have killed herself, based on the numerous pills found scattered beside her dead body.

Jessica's last Facebook post, taken from Msytera Magazine, has a cryptic message. It reads: "Life doesn't always introduce you to the people you WANT to meet. Sometimes, life puts you in touch with the people you NEED to meet to Help You, to Hurt You, to Guide You, to Leave You, to Love You, and to gradually Strengthen You into the Person You Were Meant to Become."
