The second installment of the awful, but much beloved Sharknado movie debuts tonight.

The thing that draws people to movies like "Sharknado" is that it's an imaginative concept that relies on heavy excitement. As CNN points out, movie stars were live-tweeting last year's showing of the movie, and shark-related memes appeared all over the Internet.

Also, with the power of social media and the Internet, movies like this gain a new celebrity as people share their opinions on the movie in real-time.

A total of 5.3 million people tuned into the movie over three screenings. The fans for "Sharknado 2: The second one,," will probably devour it just as much. There's already a third "Sharknado" movie in the works.

But why is this movie so much fun? It's a movie to watch with friends, and just like all bad movies, the fun is in pointing out the hilarious scenes and the improbable nature of the movie's premise. Plus, it's something that's totally addictive.

As one online review of the last Sharknado movie said "Sharknado was born to suck, but I'm hesitant to accuse its enthusiastic viewers of being rubes. The prime reason: I'm an enthusiastic viewer of it too," said Simon Miraudo of Quickflix.com

Other movies that people might love to hate, but can't avoid watching include the following. They're are so bad, they're good.

Sharknado --- This is the first in the cable movie franchise about a storm that brings killer sharks to shore.  It debuted in August 2013. A freak storm brings hundreds of sharks to Los Angeles, while a group of friends come together to survive.

2-Headed Shark Attack -- This 2012 movie has the actress Carmen Electra in it, as well as Brooke Hogan, daughter of the former WWF superstar wrestler, Hulk Hogan. In this movie, a Semester at Sea ship gets sunk by a shark with two heads. The people on board the ship make it to a deserted atoll and try to survive.

Sand Sharks -- Released in 2011, this movie, also starring Brooke Hogan has an interesting take on the shark attack movie.A horde of sharks that swim through sand hunt people down to eat them. Imagine that.

Shark Night --- One of the rare shark movies to get a theatrical release instead of being in the straight-to-video market or simply television, this 2011 movie was also made in 3-D. In this movie some college-age friends make a vacation at a lake house on the Louisiana Gulf. The friends become trapped on the island and get devoured by sharks, which usually don't go swimming around lakes.

Malibu Shark Attack -- This 2009 movie was also produced by the SyFy channel, which produced the Sharknado movies. In this movie, which is also storm related, a tsunami brings goblin sharks to Malibu, Calif.
