After his leg break injury in December last year, UFC star Anderson Silva will soon be seen on the ring again as a five-round fight with Nick Diaz was announced to happen in Las Vegas on Jan. 31.

UFC president Dana White said that the fight is expected to be UFC 183 although the venue of the match has not yet been determined, MMA Junkie notes.

"The fight that the fans have been waiting for, the fight that the fans have been screaming for ... we have made Anderson Silva vs. Nick Diaz, Jan. 31 in Las Vegas. It will be the main event, and it will be five rounds," White was quoted by MMA Junkie as saying.

The UFC president also notes that the match will be at 185 pounds.

It can be remembered that Silva has been out of the loop since he broke his leg last year at UFC 168 in a match against Chris Weidman. It was horrifying that many people considered it as the end of "The Spider's" career.

But MMA Junkie notes that Silva has become really focused on his recovery so that he can once again fight inside the ring.

"Anderson Silva feels great. It will be a 13-month layoff. ... He's 100 percent healthy. He's kicking. He feels great, and he's chomping at the bit to get back in the octagon. He's very excited for this fight," White explained.

Silva, according to MMA Junkie, was once considered the greatest pound-for-pound fighter prior to his series of losses to Weidman.

On the other hand, Diaz has also been in hiatus since March last year because of a semi-retirement prompted by losses to Carlos Condit and Geroges St. Pierre, MMA Fighting reports.

But according to MMA Junkie, Diaz has just recently signed a new contract with UFC. White expects him to outdo his previous performances and defeat Silva.

"If [Diaz] comes in and beats Anderson Silva, absolutely, he could fight for the title. He's right in there. It would be a huge, huge win for him," White added.

It was noted by MMA Junkie that Diaz is a former Strikeforce known for his trash talks and middle-finger moments. He, according to the same report, is a trained jiu-jitsu fighter but fails to deliver and show his skills on the ring as he tends to focus on his "volume-based" fighting.

Who do you think will win the upcoming Silva-Diaz fight?
