A new promotional poster for the upcoming reboot movie of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" was revealed but eventually retracted due to the design and release date combo that turned off most fans.

According to The Verge, the latest poster that promotes its opening release date of September 11 in Australia was shown via the feeds on Paramount's official Twitter and Facebook accounts.

However, many fans bashed the way it was designed and mixed with the release date as if it was depicting the tragic events which occured at the World Trade Center in New York about 13 years ago.

It was clear though that Paramount had no malicious intent with ill-perceived combo of the Australian release date and the exploding building in the background. In fact, the controversial poster was already used a week ahead without the date that most found offensive.

TMZ notes some of the tweets showing the netizens' reaction like the following:

"WOW. Someone's getting fired for this"

"Did Paramount really think this was a suitable poster for a movie release date on September 11th?"

"Too soon?"

"Nah, who cares?"

As a response, Paramount Australia sent a statement though a representative expressing how sorry they were with the rather negative connotation of the recent "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" poster.

"We are deeply sorry to have used that artwork for the marketing materials promoting the September 11 opening in Australia. Combining that image and date was a mistake. We intended no offense and have taken immediate action to discontinue its use," the rep of the studio said.

It was on a Tuesday when the Twitter account @ParamountAU posted a picture of the poster with an accompanying text that said, "Check out the official poster for #TMNT in cinemas September 11!" Time recalls.

It was eventually taken down by the studio but it was already retweeted and preserved by other Twitter users online.

On other TMNT news, a music video of a rap song from the reboot movie's soundtrack has been recently released. The video for the track, entitled "Shell Shocked," features a lot of rappers like Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign and Juicy J doing their kind of thing, states Zap2it.

The TMNT video shows the looks of Shredder in his steel plate outfit - covered in blades. It also shows majority of the Foot Clan plus a skateboarding Michaelangelo.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" is set to hit the big screen on August 8 and stars Megan Fox and Will Arnett among many others.
