The Minnesota Timberwolves has recently signed free agent Mo Williams to the team roster which according some reports mean that J.J Barea is out.

The one-year contract, according to Yahoo Sports, is worth $37.5 million. The same report adds that Williams will play as "an experienced and versatile combo guard" behind Ricky Rubio.

On his Twitter page, the player expressed how happy he was with the contract with the Timberwolves.

''I couldn't be more happy to put on a Twolves (jersey). Looking forward to playing with some good young talent and help the maturation process take place," he said.

Williams make his exit from Portland Trail Blazers where he averaged 9.7 points per game, Yahoo Sports notes. He reportedly became an attractive target for the Timberwolves because of his three-point range performance, adds Yahoo Sports.

CBS Sports says in a report that Williams has a good attitude during games and that he has been a part of winning teams for almost his entire career in the NBA. It was also said in the report that he is a "solid role" player and a "favorable contract."

It was noted by Yahoo Sports what Williams was part of the All-Star 2009 and was given credit for helping LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers reach the NBA finals.

The report also adds that Williams is an 87-percent free-throw shooter during his entire career.

Aside from Williams, Yahoo also notes that the Wolves have also started discussing with the Cleveland Cavaliers the Kevin Love trade since the latter has expressed teaming up the player with James and Kyrie Irving. Love's trade talks have travelled even to Golden State, Chicago and Boston.

Barea's status with the team has not yet been confirmed but reports noted that he could be out of the team despite his remaining one year with the Wolves.

In a commentary published by Waiting For Next Year, it was discussed that the Wolves donot really need Mo Williams though it noted that the player's salary could be part of the Love trade plans.

It was also said in the report that Williams could be up for trade until three months after he signs or on December 15, whichever comes later.

But the whole basketball industry is looking forward on what Williams can do for the Wolves once the next NBA season starts. And perhaps his stay with the team will also depend on his performance and if he can be very vital to the team's rally for the NBA championship.
