Three of music's biggest names have collaborated on a single that has leaked online a day prior to its release. Jessie J's new single, "Bang Bang," which features Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, is the singer's first track off her new album.
From the sultry voice of Grande, 21, added to the sick rhymes of 31-year-old Minaj and the spunky vocals of Jessie J, 26, the song is sure to be a summer headbanger.
There's no messing around with this track. From the get go, its got action and crazy beats. "Bang Bang" begins with powerhouse Jessie J belting:
"She got a body like an hourglass, but I can give it to you all the time /
She got a booty like a Cadillac, but I can send you into overdrive (oh) /
(Stop and wait, wait for that, stop, hold up, swing your bat) /
See anybody could be bad to you, you need a good girl to blow your mind, yeah /"
The song's notable lines include:
"Queen Nicki dominant, prominent /
It's me, Jessie, and Ari /
If they test me they sorry / "
The ladies take turns in the track showing off their vocal prowess. Jessie J sings the first verse up to the hook while Grande steps in to take the second verse and the following hook. Minaj gives the song her own style as she takes the third verse and raps her rhymes.
Two days prior to song release, Nicki Minaj has taken to Instagram to promote the girl-power track by posting a caricature of the three musicians wielding purple guns while decked out in leather attire. "#BangBang drops on Tuesday," said Minaj.
Minaj then posted this photo earlier today captioned: "#BangBangOnItunes everywhere *kisses Jessie n Ari*"
The track was produced by the same team, Max Martin with Savan Kotecha and Ilya, who brought Grande's hit song, "Problem," to the world, noted PitchFork. The song is a guaranteed energy booster, with many saying the song is reminiscent of the earlier diva collaboration on "Lady Marmalade," released way back in 2001.
According to MusicTimes, "The track is confirmed to appear on Grande's new album "My Everything," due out Aug. 25. The track is also rumored to appear on the U.S. version of J's 2013 album Alive and could even crossover to Minaj's 2014 effort The Pinkprint."
