Warner Bros. has finally released the first trailer for Academy Award winning director, Peter Jackson's third installment of "The Hobbit" trilogy. The film subtitled, "The Battle of the Five Armies," is expected to drop in theaters Dec. 17.
The trailer carries a very somber emotion as the clip begins with Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins saying: "One day they'll remember- remember everything that happened. The good, the bad, those who survived and those that did not."
The nearly two minute trailer includes scenes leading to the epic battle, from the war preparations, death and snippets of the various characters of the film. It ends with a question posed by Thorin, played by Richard Armitage: "Will you follow me one last time?"
According to the film's official Facebook account: "'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies' brings to an epic conclusion the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield and the Company of Dwarves. Having reclaimed their homeland from the Dragon Smaug, the Company has unwittingly unleashed a deadly force into the world. Enraged, Smaug rains his fiery wrath down upon the defenseless men, women and children of Lake-town."
The final "Hobbit" movie was featured in the recently concluded San Diego Comic Con. IndieWire noted that the cast was present during a panel discussion which included the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch, Lee Pace, Luke Evans, Cate Blanchett, Richard Armitage, Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen and Evangeline Lilly, to name a few.
Along with the trailer, the studio has also released a new poster on its social media pages featuring Bilbo Baggins, holding a sword and looking down.
