The popular Texas senator who delayed a bill which banned abortions shall soon make a formal announcement by October 3 on what most suspect will be about her running for governor.
The female senator said that in response to her supporters asking of what will be her next move, Ms Davis said that her answer to that will be revealed by the mentioned date, the Fort Worth Star Telegram reports. The Austin American Statesman on the other hand is one of the sites who suspect that the senator will render the announcement for a governor run along with Sen. Leticia Van de Putte, as candidate for lieutenant governor.
Aside from the senator's filibustering profile, she also appeared on several national talk shows as she talked about the Republicans only fighting for the 20 week abortion ban as a way of getting some attention. Since her filibustering days, there were reports saying that she was able to raise about $6.2 million and went to Washington, D.C. to attend a National Press Club event.
Various polls show that most Americans, the greater number is women, support the banning of abortion after 20 weeks of carrying the baby in the womb, Washington Post reports.
CBS News, on the other hand, said that there has been no other Democrat who wanted to run for the governor position in the state. This is in line with the fact that there is not any single Democrat who has held office in Texas in the last 20 years.
Through her email message, Ms Davis told supporters to spread her plan via social media and even encourage other people to also join in her mailing list. Even if the senator previously promised to make her announcement on Labor Day, the recent death of her father on Sept 5 kept her busy spending time with the family instead for the last two weeks.
