Colombian soccer star James Rodríguez isn't just the 2014 World Cup's top scorer, he's now a Real Madrid player worth millions.

After being presented to fans at the annual Bernebeu in Spain this week, before 44,000 fans, soccer shirts for James reportedly sold close to half-a-million jerseys in just two days.

The new shirt will simply bear his first name on the back, "James".

The New York Times reports that "Rodríguez is expected to wear the coveted No. 10 jersey, which became available when Mesut Özil moved from Real Madrid to Arsenal last season. Where Rodríguez fits in on the field and who among Madrid's current roster will make way remains to be seen."

During Rodriguez's presentation before thousands of fans, many wearing the Colombian national colors, an excited fan made his way down to the field to hug the soccer star. Security quickly moved in to get the situation under control, but no one was hurt.

But most fans were only responding to Rodriguez's star power.

As the Daily Mail reported, he made a lasting impression at this year's top soccer tournament. "The Colombian forward dazzled at the World Cup in Brazil, winning the Golden Boot with some spectacular goals and it's evident he'll be a fan favorite this season alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale at the Bernabeu."

Rodriguez signed a six-year deal with the team. "Neither club have confirmed the fee for the 23-year-old, but reports suggest Madrid have paid about £60million, which would make Rodriguez the fourth most expensive transfer of all time after Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez," reported the Daily Mail.

Other reports said that it took $108 million to get Rodriguez from French club Monaco to join Real Madrid. He's expected to join his new team starting in August.
