Fans of Showtime's hit TV series, "Masters of Sex," were in eager anticipation for the return of the second season.  Although the premiere was intense, its episodic pace was lacking, leaving viewers to question if season two would keep up with the fluidity of the first.

On Sunday night, all questions about "Masters of Sex" were answered in a jam-packed episode that brought back the drama between Bill and Virginia.

Bill informs Virginia that although he has a position at Gateway Memorial Hospital, hers is not secured even though both of their names were on the sex study.

Bill's new boss, Doug Greathouse, informs Bill that he will have a new secretary. The divide in the work place inserts an element of conflict between Bill and Virginia that will have to be resolved at a later point in the season.

Bill's first patient is Betty, who by order of her wealthy husband Gene, is to be put on fertility treatment drugs. Gene doesn't know that Bill already diagnosed Betty as being sterile.

Bill is enraged that Betty hasn't told her husband that she will not be able to have children. In a meltdown Bill threatens to tell Gene, but Betty fires back saying that she will get the funding for the study pulled unless Bill cooperates.

The power struggles and difficulties of preforming sex research have been heavily emphasized in the two opening episodes of the second season. There are numerous ethical questions that Bill must face while trying his best to be a scientist. His privileged information is often more a burden than anything else.

The next ethical dilemma for Bill is in the case of a VIP's daughter, Rose. Rose is suffering from the medical effects of an illegal abortion. Rose's mother tells Bill to sterilize Rose due to her rampant sexual behavior. Bill is conflicted about this, but Doug insists that he must due to the parent's wishes. The parents carry significant sway with the hospitals board of directors.

Bill talks with Rose and finds out that she too wants the procedure to be done. She refers to herself as a 'whore,' and Bill diagnoses that she has a sexual disorder. Bill instead inserts Rose with IUD that will act as birth control, while mitigating her sexual urges.

"Masters of Sex" is gearing up for another 'white knuckle' season. The drama with sex knows no bounds.
