Jordan Spieth may have been an unknown name during the start of the season but he ended it with being chosen to be a part of the President's Cup. The 20-year-old golf player together with Webb Simpson completed the 12-member team. Spieth is the youngest to play in the said prestigious cup since its very first tournament in 1994.

The young golfer was just on his sophomore year in Texas last year when he became pro when 2012 ended, that is regardless of not being a tour member and did not succeed in overcoming the second round of the PGA Tour to qualify. Still, he was able to show his best to have earned his temporary status and got to win the John Deere Classic recently.

He is the first golfer since the time of Tiger Woods to begin a season without any status at all but still was able to be included in a Tour Championship.

As Fred Couples took advantage of his captain picks, he said that it was his decision to settle for someone young who also added excitement and thrill to the entire group. He mentioned too that it was hard for him to pass on Jim Furyk for the very first time.

Couples described Webb Simpson on the other hand as a 'class act.'

Nick Price also used his picks for two rookies namely Marc Leishman from Australia and Brendon de Jonge from Zimbabwe for the international roster. The games will be on October 3 to 6 to be held in Dublin, Ohio.
