The San Bernardino County Sheriffs Department is scouring thousands of hours of military base footage in hope of finding clues that may lead to the discovery of missing pregnant military wife, Erin Corwin.

Corwin has now been missing for two and half weeks. She was last seen leaving a military base in Twentynine Palms.  

According to her husband, Erin Corwin was heading to Joshua Tree National Park to scope out campsites for a future trip with her mother.

Marine Cpl. Jonathan Corwin, Erin Corwin's husband, reported her missing to authorities the following day after she didn't return. Corwin's 2013 Toyota Camry was found in Twentynine Palms but there was no sign of Corwin.

Authorities have not commented on what, if any, evidence was found in the abandoned car.

In the most recent bid for information on Erin's disappearance, authorities have obtained footage from the military base and are scouring it for clues.

Military personnel have aided in the search of Corwin, but Cpl. Randy Naquin, a public affairs officer with the San Bernardino County Sheriffs Department, described Joshua Tree as being roughly the size of Rhode Island, but with perilous landscapes and triple-digit temperatures.

As the search enters its third week of operation, the chances of finding Corwin appear to be slim. However, the odds aren't stopping the Twentynine Palms military base from keeping up efforts and organizing support groups.

On Monday, a Navy Chaplain organized a closed-door support group for the families of military personnel.

Capt. Justin Smith, a spokesperson for the Marine Corps base, told Fox reporters, "The mood in here is somber but hopeful."

"Everyone's anxious for her to come home. We all look forward to her return," said Smith. 

According to Smith, the Twentynine Palms area is "generally pretty safe," and that the base and citizens have a great relationship.

San Bernardino officials have not released any further leads or persons of interest to the public.
