A South Carolina branch of the Ku Klux Klan has turned to a new tactic in their bid for new recruits.

The white supremacist organization in Oconee County has begun distributing bags of candy accompanied by fliers and leaving the packages in county residents' driveways, hoping to convince more to join with them.

According to Boston.com, one Oconee County resident, Bo Morris, spoke openly to WHNS-TV and stated that the so-called "klan" was not welcome in his neighborhood.

"We have all different ethnicities in this neighborhood," Morris stated, "and we really don't want that kind of stuff here."

The fliers left by the KKK apparently contain the slogan "Save Our Land, Join the Klan," as well as provide contact information for anyone wishing to know more including a phone number, a North Carolina mailing address, and a url for "the Loyal White Knights of the Klu Klux Klan."

One clan member who identified himself as the "imperial klaliff of the Loyal White knights" spoke with WHNS-TV and explained that the fliers and candy are a part of a nationwide recruitment effort.

At this time, no other KKK outreach that includes candy has been reported.
