Comic-Con 2014 Dates, Best Films, Schedule, Walking Dead Preview

Comic-Con, probably the biggest celebration of everything popular culture, comic, movies and television in the world is hitting San Diego starting next week, and runs from July 24 to 27.


There are four days planned of celebrity Q&As, Hollywood blockbuster film screenings and rumors and previews of upcoming movies and television shows. The host venue is located at 111 W. Harbor Dr., San Diego's convention center  and has 19 rooms with just over 150 seats in them, and a the grand Hall H, where the biggest stars take the stage.


This year's convention should be no less surprising than previous years where people got a chance to learn about the biggest comic and hero-inspired works coming on the scene. Here's a look at some of the hottest movie and television panels during Comic-Con, which runs Thursday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Marvel Studios, which produces the upcoming "Avengers" movie will be the stars of the show, without a doubt.


Thursday

Sony Pictures will feature "Goosebumps" with Jack Black and Adam Sandler's "Pixels" in the Indigo Ballroom from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. DreamWorks Animation will have a panel on "Penguins of Madagascar" and "Home" which stars singer Rihanna from 11:30 a.m. to 1p.m. in Hall H.


For television fans, Dreamworks will have a panel on Toy Story That Time Forgot, an upcoming ABC television special, from 11:215 a.m. until 12:15 in Room 6A.


Maybe the biggest television program to preview on Thursday will be "Sharknado 2: The Second One", with a panel comprised of an Ziering, Tara Reid, Kari Wuhrer and Judah Friedlander. The panel  starts at 7:15 p.m. in Room 6BCFRoom 6BCF. "Star Wars Rebels," a Disney XD animated program will be discussed from 6p.m. to 7p.m. in Room 6BCF.


Friday

Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro and actor Zachary Quinto are expected to be on hand for the big 20th Century Fox panel starting at 4:20 p.m. and taking place in Hall H. Del Toro's "Book of Life" will be among the movies featured as well as "Hitman: Agent 47" with Quinto.

This day will indeed be special for fans of "The Walking Dead" who can partake in a Q&A and screening with the likes of stars Norman Reedus and Andrew Lincoln. A preview of the The Walking Dead Season 5 will also possibly be screened. The panel starts at 12:20p.m. in Hall H.


"Game of Thrones" will host a panel shortly following "The Walking Dead" showcase. Actors and producers from the show will be on hand for the even which starts at 1:40 p.m. in Hall H.


Other Friday television panels include "Bates Motel" with Vera Farmiga at 3:30 p.m. in Room 6A. The show about clones, "Orphan Black", in its second season starting at 6 p.m. in Room 6A.


The superheroes will come out for the Marvel Television Presents  panel at 3 p.m. in Ballroom 20. More television shows panels and previews include The Big Bang Theory writers (10 a.m., Ballroom 20), and iZOMBIE ( 11:30 a.m., Room 6BCF).

Saturday


There will a two-hour panel about "The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies" starting at 10 a.m. in Hall H. 
Another Guillermo del Toro project, "Crimson Peak"  is likely to make in impression during the Legendary Pictures panel from 12:25 p.m. to 1:10 p.m. in Hall H. And director Robert Rodriguez will be on a panel along with Rosario Dawson and Jessica Alba to talk about "Frank Miller's Sin City" from 2:50 p.m. to 3:50 p.m. in Hall H.
Marvel Studios, which has been a star of Comic-Con in recent years might show some images from "Avengers: Age of Ultron". The panel starts at 5:30p.m. in Hall H.


The television panels are just as impressive for the big day for Saturday with a "The Simpsons" 25th anniversary panel that starts at 10 a.m. The fairytale show "Once Upon a Time" will be discussed from 11 a.m., both are in Ballroom 20.


The anticipated American Horror Story Freak Show will screen, followed by a Q&A from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Room 6DE, starts Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Michael Chiklis, Evan Peters, and Emma Roberts are expected to be on hand. 


It's superhero central again when fans can catch the the World Premiere of Gotham, followed by talk on other heroes at Warner Bros. Television & DC Entertainment Present panel from 8 p.m. to 11p.m. in Hall H.


Sunday


Some people might think Sunday will be a slow day at the convention, but there are several hit shows that will host panel discussions.


Among the television shows that fans can go learn more about is Guillermo del Toro's The Strain. The vampire-like tale began airing this month. Del Toro will be on hand to discuss the program and take questions. And there will be screening with footage from the upcoming third episode. 1:45-3:45 in Hall H.
