After four days of action, the field is narrowed as the best and brightest stars in the world of tennis continue to vie for the coveted French Open title as the 2013 tournament continues on Friday.

Thursday's action saw No.1 men's seed Novak Djokovic handily defeat Guido Pella, 6-2, 6-0, 6-2 to advance to the third round while in women's action, Victoria Azarenka of Belarus defeated Annika Beck of Germany 6-4, 6-3. Sloane Stephens bested fellow American Vania King 6-1, 6-3, and Zheng Jie beat Melanie Oudin of the United States 6-3, 6-1. Defending champion Maria Sharapova was leading Eugenie Bouchard 6-2, 4-2 until rain interrupted their match, postponing it until Friday.

And the action continues on Friday with a slew of big matches. Men's defending champion Rafael Nadal takes on Martin Klizan, with Nadal coming off a five-set scare in the first round that saw him get tested. Coming off his dominant showing on Wednesday, No.2-seeded Roger Federer will also be in action when he takes on No.30 Julien Benneteau in third round action. American David Ferrer will also be playing on the famed clay court of Roland Garros when he faces Feliciano Lopez.

On the women's side, the stars will be out in full force when world-and-tournament No.1 seed Serena Williams looks to continue her impressive roll in the French Open when she takes on Sorana Cirstea. Sharapova and Bouchard will also conclude their match from Thursday as the defending champion Sharapova eyes the third round. Meanwhile, No.4-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska looks to keep her French Open dreams alive when she faces off against Dinah Pfizenmaier, and Italian No.5 Sara Errani goes one-on-one with Sabine Lisicki.
