Even with the success of Mark Wahlberg's first headline in the Transformers franchise, could it be that original cast duo Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox be coming back for the fifth film installment? Rumors have been circulating that "Transformers 5" will feature Fox and LaBeouf.
Fox is staring in the upcoming film "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and was quoted by MoviePlot.com as saying, "I'm not sure if I'll return. As long as things are good between everyone and Shia returns with me I'd like to see us partner up with the new cast like a crossover."
This could indicate that there are considerations being made and it's possible that the idea has been discussed. As for the former film lead, he was a bit more indirect in his response. He does acknowledge that he'd be open to it but in the end, says not "Transformers."
LaBeouf commented, "It would be good to do another film but I doubt with the new changes since the third film that Megan could return you know, it might be a love war if me or Rosie both return you know its not that i don't think about it." He adds, "But no, I highly doubt I'll be back for another one. I'll do another Michael Bay film but not Transformers."
Speaking on the production of the films, producer Lorenzo do Bonaventura doesn't want to get into the specifics just yet. "It's an exhausting process to make these movies. The scale of them is so enormous. It really does tax everybody and our tendency is to finish one at a time, recover, and then begin talking," Bonaventura opens up to Screenrant.
The original "Transformers" trilogy starred LaBeouf which began with Sam Witwicky getting a new car that turned out to be an alien robot transformer. The film followed him on adventures with his new car but a casting and storyline overhaul was done for the fouth film.
"Transformers: Age of Extinction" was set four years after the epic battle of Chicago and the world no longer holds transformers in the same regard as it used to. The new cast features father-daughter duo Mark Wahlberg and Nicola Peltz.
"Transformers 5" is due out in 2016 meaning there is still a lot of time for new developments. "Transformers : Galvatron Rising" will be the fifth film which is expected to feature Wahlberg again up until a 6th movie, at the very least.
