Chino Antrax, the suspected leader of Mexico's Sinaloa Cartel arrived in San Diego Thursday after being extradited him from the Netherlands, according to U.S. Attorney Laura Duffy.

Jose Rodrigo Arechiga Gamboa was flown under heavy security from Amsterdam into the San Diego International Airport, accompanied by U.S. Marshals and the Drug Enforcement Agency.

He has been booked on federal charges of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances intended for importation, and conspiracy to import controlled substances. He is scheduled to be arraigned on these charges Friday.

Archiga Gamboa is a suspected bodyguard with the Sinaloa cartel, and a former leader of the assassin group Los Antrax. His reported girlfriend made headlines recently after social media posts documenting her lifestyle -- complete with hot pink machine guns and bodyguards -- went viral, dubbing her the Queen of Anthrax.

According to extradition documents, Chino Antrax reportedly served as a bodyguard for the Sinaloa Cartel, and as the leader of an enforcement group called “Los Antrax."

Gamboa was responsible for providing drug shipments and security for the cartel group, a role he flourished in. The suspected member made his way up to the cartel’s highest levels, according to documents, before being arrested by Dutch officials on Dec. 30, 2013 while flying from Mexico City to Amsterdam.

According to documents, Archiga Gamboa had attempted to conceal his identity with plastic surgery, and was traveling under the alias "Norberto Sicairos-Garcia." He had also attempted to alter his fingerprints.

U.S. authorities issued a warrant for his arrest only 10 days prior to Dutch authorities capturing him.
