Labor Day 2013 - Dallas: Five Events To Look Out For & Attend

People in Dallas do not necessarily have to be stuck inside their houses on Labor Day. Unless letting the holiday pass by through the couch is preferred, here is a list of things to do in Dallas on Labor Day.
The Rangers Labor Day Race will hit off at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington this year. The scenic jog will run through the Dallas Cowboys' stadium and Six Flags Over Texas. The 1-kilometer (1K) race will start at 7:30 am while the 5-kilometer (5K) race will start at 8:00 am. Entry fees for the 1K race are $15 until September 1 and $16 on race day itself, September 2. Entry fees for the 5K race are $32 until September 1 and $35 on race day itself, September 2. According to the official website of Rangers Labor Day Race, online registration is no longer available for both races. Awards for this year's race include: Overall Male and Female Finisher, Masters Male and Female Finisher, 1st to 3rd Place Awards for Full Five Year Age Groups and Top Fundraiser.
Garland Labor Day Exchange Event
This year's Garland Labor Day Exchange Event (GLEE) organized by The Noon Exchange Club of Garland will start off with the annual parade at 9:00 am. The parade route will be Walnut & 5th St. to Main St. to Garland Road to Avenue F. and will end at Central Park. The Garland Labor Day Exchange Event will continue at Central Park until 3:00 pm. Garland Labor Day Exchange Event has lots in store for participants like the Chili Cook Off, great food, live entertainment and a Classic Car Show and Ford Motor Eco Boost Display. There will also be face painting, bounce houses and pony rides for the kids.
Labor Day End of Summer Swim Party
The Labor Day End of Summer Party is open to the public. Non-members will have to pay $5 while members come in for free. Food and non-alcoholic drinks can be brought inside the premises. There are lots of things to do at Texas Pool aside from waddling in 168,000-gallon saltwater pool shaped like Texas. Activities include cannon ball contests and other water games.
Free yoga classes for everyone will be offered whole day on Monday in celebration of the 7th Annual DFW Free Day of Yoga. People of every age and every fitness level are invited to join the free yoga classes offered by participating studios across Metroplex.
The St. Mark Community Festival is open to the public and has free admission. Ride tickets are tagged at $1 while food and game tickets are for $0.50. Activities include carnival rides courtesy of Triple T Amusements, food, live entertainment, raffles, karaoke and a free health fair.
