Hey, LA soccer fans! Can't afford a ticket to Brazil for the World Cup final match? Neither can we.
Not to worry, because we've scoped out the best local places to watch Argentina take on Germany this Sunday. So pick a spot you like and come join the mob. Remember, it'll be four more years until you can do this again.
According to Laist.com, here are some of the best spots hosting World Cup viewing parties this Sunday:
The Fox and Hounds
This is a true pub and a great place to watch any soccer match, let alone the World Cup final. They have two big screens and several smaller TVs, so you can sit anywhere and still see the action. The food and beer are authentic British, and they apparently have half-off specials on certain beers during the World Cup!
The Fox And Hounds is located at 11100 Ventura Blvd. in Studio City, CA, 818-763-7837
Casey's Irish Pub
Casey's is located in the heart of downtown LA and is an awesome place to catch any sporting event. They have 12 TV screens and Happy Hour is all day on Sundays and Mondays. Yep, all day. It is a traditional Irish pub, complete with a "varnished wood aesthetic" and authentic Irish fare and brews.
Casey's Irish Pub is located at 613 S. Grand Ave. LA, CA, 213-629-2353
Tom's Urban
Located right across the street from Staples Center and right in the middle of LA Live. Tom's Urban boasts several huge TV screens, tons of space, awesome menu and drinks and a great sports atmosphere.
Tom's Urban is located at 1011 S. Figueroa St. LA, CA 90015 213-746-8667
Village Idiot
Village Idiot reserves TV screens just for soccer matches. They don't mess around when it comes to their futbol. They open at 8 am during the World Cup and have a brunch menu which starts at 9 am. Whether your feeling some good old British food (Shepherd's Pie, anyone?) or something more contemporary, they have it all. But remember to arrive early; the VI does not take reservations.
Village Idiot is located at 7383 Melrose Ave. in West Hollywood, CA, 323-655-3331
The York
A hipper and hipster-er alternative to the traditional pub, The York, located in Highland Park, might be the trendiest spot to watch the final World Cup match at. Vaulted ceilings keep the air flowing, and plenty of big TVs and a projector will guarantee you won't miss any of the action.
The York is located at 5018 York Blvd. in Highland Park, CA, 323-255-9675
O'Brien's Irish Pub
And for those of you on the westside of LA, we didn't forget you. Come down to O'Brien's in Santa Monica and pull up a stool while you enjoy one of their specialty brews and catch the match. 14 TVs, traditional British food and an opening time of 9 am make this an ideal place to be come Sunday.
O'Brien's Irish Pub is located at 2226 Wilshire Blvd. in Santa Monica, CA, 310-829-5303
