Awful Leaked Britney Track is Real, Confirms Management; Defends Lack of Auto-Tune

Well, it turns out that awful Britney Spears track that's making the rounds is real, at least according to her producer William Orbit.

The leaked track was recorded during 2012 when the star was in the studio recording "Alien," and what was intended to be left off the album was released without altering or the help of Auto-Tune onto the Internet.

Its release had fans of the pop starlet in a complete tizzy. Calling the track "fake" or "altered," her YouTube defenders were convinced that the track couldn't possibly be Britney.

Unfortunately for them, they were wrong. Spears' producer on the album, William Orbit, says the track is indeed the real deal, and he's defending the star in a statement on Facebook:

"I'd like to affirm that ANY singer when first at the mic at the start of a long session can make a multitude of vocalisations in order to get warmed up.

Warming up is essential if you're a pro, as it is with a runner doing stretches, and it takes a while to do properly. I've heard all manner of sounds emitted during warmups. The point is that it is not supposed to be shared with millions of listeners.

A generous singer will put something down the mic to help the engineer get their systems warmed up and at the right level, maybe whilst having a cup of herb tea and checking through lyrics before the session really kicks off. It's not expected to be a 'take'."

Britney Spears - Alien NO AUTOTUNE by dioguinhoblog

Sorry, guys. It does look like the track is indeed Ms. Britney Jean Spears, in all of her naked vocal glory. Perhaps next time someone will destroy the evidence before it hits airwaves.
