The Samsung Galaxy S5 debuted this spring, and has been a popular option on the mobile smartphone market for its crisp display and super-powered processor. Mobile phone experts and consumers agree Samsung's flagship phone has offered a welcomed upgrade to its already powerful Samsung S4, which was already packed with offerings.

Some of the features experts and consumers have praised about the phone is the lightweight sleek design, its new water-proof (up to 3 feet) and dust-proof casing, and its 5.1 inch 1080 HD AMOLED display. It's a phone that's as adept at watching Netflix movies as it is taking calls for business.

A survey of customer reviews on Amazon.com have consistently given the device four out of five stars, with the approval pushing closer to a 4.5 star rating.

The main criticism of the Samsung Galaxy S5 may be in the extras such as a fingerprint scanner, or TouchID as they call it. The new feature, which is similar to the latest extra the iPhone offers is difficult for some users to get just right, according to many reviews.

The main objection seems to be with the movement of a user's finger over the fingerprint reading screen. The finger movements have to be precise and in the same area as the initial fingerprint scan according to several reviews at top online sites.

A review at trustedreview.com also pointed out the trouble with this feature. "After the Galaxy S5 has failed to recognize your fingerprint three times, you're booted out to a more traditional password. And I had to use this password more often than not for the first few days. The performance boosted a little after the scanner was recalibrated a few times, but at best the hit rate was about 50 per cent," a reviewer noted.

Customers who bought the Galaxy S5 noted the improved design overall. One customer on Amazon.com said the device had a "beautiful display","great performance" and "premium camera with lots of features."

The 16 megapixel camera on the back of the Samsung Galaxy S5 has been noted for its quality, along with the 2.1 megapixel camera perfect for selfies. The camera is also capable of shooting in a finer HDR mode, and can take video in 4K resolution.

It's a camera with overwhelming quality that most reviews from costumers to experts seem to agree is worth the price.
