Macy's 38th Annual Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular kicks off on the East River for the first time in five years. You can find information on best locations to watch the show from Manhattan and Brooklyn below in addition to information for the live NBC TV broadcast, start time and live online streaming.
Usually the show takes place off of the Hudson River, but Macy's felt that the Brooklyn Bridge would be a beautiful backdrop for this years show.
More than 40,000 fireworks will be fired from three barges in the East River. The fireworks will be synchronized to patriotic music as the event plans to be this year's must see firework extravaganza.
Time & Schedule
The show is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. ET, although usually with delays the more accurate time is around 9:20 p.m. This fireworks display is one of the most popular in the nation, so if you want to snag a seat it's best to show up at 5 p.m. or even earlier.
Due to the long wait, there will be entertainment provided in the river before hand. At 7:30 p.m. two U.S. Navy F-18's will fly over the area proceeded by a NYPD helicopter unit. At 8:00 p.m. NYFD will put on a water show with their fireboats.
NBC Program & TV Schedule
