The Oklahoma City Thunder has recently brought back guard Sebastian Telfair to the NBA in a one-year deal with the team.

According to a source of USA Today, Telfair will play for the Thunder as its point guard for the next NBA season. The No. 13 pick during the 2004 draft played for the Tianjin Ronggang Golden Lioans in the Chinese Basketball Association during the last season. He previously played with seven teams in the NBA for nine seasons, USA Today added.

Telfair's return, according to Yahoo Sports, is only worth over $1.3 million for the mentioned one-year contract.

Yahoo also noted that the Thunder is the eighth NBA team for the 29-year-old player who came from the Abraham Lincoln High. He was picked by the Portland Trail Blazers in 2004 and was elevated to its starting lineup during his rookie season.

After that, he was transferred to the Boston Celtics  in exchange for Raef LaFrentz who was playing center, Yahoo Sports added.

This began his transfer to other NBA teams like the Los Angeles Clippers and the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was shipped back to the Minnesota in the summer of 2010. He became a free agent later on and signed up with the Phoenix Suns and the Toronto Raptors.

But when he did not find the opportunity he was looking for the player opted to go to the Far East, Yahoo Sports reported.

Telfair's agent Andy Miller told Yahoo in an interview that they wanted to make a move from a "position of control" to allow the player to run a team before coming back to the NBA.

It was also noted that Telfair was averaging 26.1 points, six assists and 4.5 rebounds during his season in Tianjin.

"I want to be in the playoffs, chasing a ring. That's my goal right now. I want to make some kind of a mark," Yahoo quoted Telfair as saying.

Sports fans and analysts are now anticipating whether Telfair will perform well with Oklahoma City.

"There's no middle ground for me: You're either an All-Star, or you're nothing. Some people would cave to that. But I'm out here playing basketball every night for nine years. I'm in the NBA right now. You know what I'm saying? My personal goals, I'm still chasing. But I'm playing in the NBA. I'm still here. My story is definitely not over," Telfair added in a report by Yahoo.
