Texas Tech cheerleader Kendall Jones is quickly becoming the most hated person on the Internet thanks to a barrage of photos she's posted on social media while next to the endangered animals she's killed.

In one photo, the 19-year-old blonde is posing with a massive grin next to a dead lion. In others, a leopard, elephant, hippo or other big game African creature.

After outrage over Jones' social media posts began to catch wind, the cheerleader addressed concerns, stating that the hunting of these animals was all done legally, and that hunting big game is essential to keeping populations down in conservation areas.

Social media users and members of animal conservatory groups are thus far not interested in Jones answers, however. Critics cite the "sickening" nature of her photos and the "depraved boasting" done on her Facebook page as a source of their outrage.

Facebook users are demanding that Jones take down her page because it promotes "animal cruelty." An online petition has been created, and has amassed over 40,000 signatures in less than a week.

Jones' Facebook page suggests that she is aiming to land a reality TV show about her "conquests" in Africa. This type of alleged lack of respect towards the majestic creatures she has shot is one of the driving forces behind her opposition.

For all the negative posts and messages being sent to Jones, there are also those who think that her actions are perfectly warranted.

Jones has over 140,000 likes on her Facebook page, which seems to validate that she does have supporters.

Hunting is an age old sport that is immersed into most cultures around the world.

U.S. President Teddy Roosevelt was an avid hunter, although his preservation of the wild showed his respect for nature's creations.

Roosevelt is largely credited with contributing to the National Parks system in America, giving the President the power "to declare by public proclamation historic landmarks, historic and prehistoric structures, and other objects of historic or scientific interest," on public land.

Jones compared to herself to Roosevelt in a Facebook post, to which critics fired back, saying that there is major difference between respectful hunting and the flaunting your kills on social media.

The photo that seems to be causing the most chaos is of Jones hugging a dead leopard as she flashes a grin.

As the old saying goes, "Any press is good press," and Jones may end up seeing a bit of Internet fame off of the outrage.

After all, she's caused this much of a stir thus far.
