The Sony Xperia Honami/Z1 has been one of the most speculated about smartphones yet to be officially revealed, but a new leak suggests Sony is preparing an alternative version of the device, and now Sony has released a new photo showing off the most hyped feature of the device, the 20 megapixel camera.

On the XDA Developers forum, a new photo shows a new version of the Honami/Z1. The photo shows a mini version of the device, sitting next to BlackBerry Q10 to show how small the device is. The so-called Honami Mini is slightly smaller than the BlackBerry Q10. The photo also comes with the caption: "You didn't see this from me... but 4th of Sep is gonna be exciting! Thats all I'm saying!" That date coincides with the rumored reveal date of the Honami/Z1 before the IFA conference in Berlin, Germany on Sept. 6.

There had been previous rumors of a mini version of the Honami/Z1 being released alongside the regular sized Honami/Z1, and this photo may confirm that speculation. However, there is also the possibility that this leak is a fake, so hopefully Sony is able to confirm or deny this new rumor when they announce the Honami Z1 next month.

In addition to this unofficial leak, Sony has released an official photo of the regulation size Honami/Z1 showing off the device's camera. This photo was posted on the company's Google+ account, and reveals that the Honami/Z1 will use the Sony G Lens, which is the standard lens for Sony's DSLRs and digicams. A single LED flash is seen next to the camera, and no xenon flash is seen, squashing rumors that it would be included on the Honami/Z1. The camera will be 20 megapixels, much larger than most default cameras included with smartphones.

Not much else is known about the Sony Xperia Honami/Z1, though the device has been the subject of frequent rumors ahead of the Sept. 4 reveal date. The device is rumored to have a 5-inch 1080p display, which makes sense considering the camera on the smartphone and the photos it is capable of taking. A Snapdragon 800 chipset will power the device, and will be protected by the usual Xperia dust and water resistant technology that Sony developed for the device.
