The 2014 BET Awards, held at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California on Sunday, was full of fun, laughter and electrifying performances, with funny man Chris Rock as the event's host.
IB Times noted that the award's schedule included the red carpet event at 2:30 pm, followed by the Pre-Show at 3:00 pm and finally, the Awards ceremony which took place from 5:00 to 8:30 pm.
Big names in the music industry like Pharrell Williams, Jennifer Hudson, Usher, John Legend, Robin Thicke, Nicki Minaj, Trey Songz, Iggy Azalea, and T.I., to name a few, graced the star-studded awards show.
To kick of the show, Pharrell sang "Come Get It Bae" and towards the end of the night, managed to walk away with two of this own awards. Some of the night's presenters that handed out the acclaimed accolades included the likes of Nick Cannon, Jamie Foxx, Brandy and daytime host and musician Queen Latifah.

The 65-year-old Lionel Richie, accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award for this outstanding career as part of a legendary Motown group, "The Commodores" and later on, his successful career as a solo artist, reports The Chicago Tribune.
"Soul is a feeling, not a color. Talent is a god given gift and not a category, and out of the box is the magical place where true talent goes to thrive and breathe," said Richie during his acceptance speech.
While the night was full of laughter and festivities, the awards show was clouded by violence as there were two separate incidents where a man was shot to death while another was stabbed in pre-show events. BET has stated that the preshow parties at which the violence occurred were not officially affiliated with the show, writes the Hollywood Reporter.
