The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4 may be sporting a 12 MP optical image stabilization (OIS) camera as opposed to 16 MP photo capture capacity, a report by ETNews revealed.
The 12MP camera on the Galaxy Note 4 with OIS will be supported by a 3.7MP front camera for making video calls.
"The reason for the change from a 20MP to a 12MP camera is allegedly Samsung's desire to keep the Note 4 as thins as it can, while also having OIS on board," wrote GforGames.com on the alleged opt or OIS over the increased pixel-power.
GSMarena.com published that this latest report varies from previous claims that the South Korean gadget-maker will be focusing on higher pixels.
Depending on what consumers are looking for, many may take this as a good thing as the latest Note out in the market doesn't carry an OIS feature. Given the quality of the photos and tech of Samsung, many speculate retaining the 12 MP but enhancing its capabilities won't be much of a negative point on the company.
What other features is the Note 4 expected to carry? The next-gen phone is reported to also have two processor options, the quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, and a new 8 core Samsung Exynos 5433 processor, notes Geeky-gadgets.com. Reports also indicate that there will be a 5.7 inch Quad HD display with a 260 x 1440 pixel resolution, RAM worth 3GB and built in storage of 32GB, expandable.
The phone is expected to drop during the upcoming 2014 IFA Annual Congress in Berlin to take place in September. In line with these are claims that the device should be entering production by July to meet the 5 million unit order Samsung has put in place for its alleged September 25 release date.
Another device expected to rival the Galaxy Note 4 is the iPhone 6 of Apple that is generating the same amount of speculation and attention.
"Previously, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was released at the end of September and if the reports are accurate the Galaxy Note 4 will launch even earlier and Samsung will jump on Apple's iPhone 6, which is expected to make a huge impact in the smartphone market with the release of the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models," reported IB Times AU.
No word has been given by both Apple or Samsung on their highly-anticipated smartphones. As of now, all speculations remain as such. Hopefully the world will get official information soon.
How about you? Will you be opting for Samsung or Apple when September rolls around?
