Honduras will take on Switzerland Wednesday in the next game of the Group E matchup of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. With France being the only team in Group E that has solidified a spot in the round of 16, Honduras and Switzerland's fate relies on the outcome of this match.
When: Wednesday, June 25
Where: Arena Amazônia, Manaus
Time: 1 p.m. PT
Schedule: ESPN2
Live Stream: ESPN
What to Watch For:
Expect Honduras to have a familiar starting lineup, getting midfielder Wilson Palacios back after his last match suspension. Honduras only has one win in 9 games in their World Cup history, but always fights hard and plays with pride. They will look to play deep crosses into the box and hope for finishes from Bengtson and Costly up top.
Switzerland will be looking to rebound after an embarrassing 5-2 loss to group-leading France. The Swiss side will be forced to make changes along their back line due to a facial injury suffered by Steve von Bergen. Xhaka and Shaqiri will look to take advantage of space in the midfield with their individual play-making skills.
Most expect the Swiss to pick up a win, which would almost certainly put them through to the knockout stage.
Predicted Lineup:
Honduras: (4-4-2) Valladares, Izaguirre, Figueora, Bernardez, Beckeles, Espinoza, Palacios, Garrido, Garcia, Costly, Bengtson
Switzerland: (4-2-3-1) Benaglio, Rodriguez, Shar, Djourou, Lichtsteiner, Inler, Behrami, Stocker, Xhaka, Shaqiri, Drmic
