On Tuesday, the Quicken Loans National golf tournament welcomed back American golfer Tiger Woods who played for about 35 minutes on the field. Woods claimed his return is a sign that he is recovering well from his back surgery and that he might soon come back stronger than his last games.

Woods was last seen at the Doral golf course on March 9 where he was suffering from extreme back pain, a condition which he has been battling since 2012. AP Sports reported that the player then decided to undergo surgery despite the possibility that he will be missing two majors. He had his back surgery on March 31.

His return to the course was, according to AP Sports, was filled with "big hopes" and "realistic expectations" though the most important part of it is he is now "without pain." He will be opening up for the Congressional Golf Tournament then plans to play in the British Open.

"I'm right here. It's been an interesting road,'' said Woods and noted that though the process has been tedious he said that he has come to a point where he can play competitive golf again.

According to AP Sports, Woods casually walked forward a few places after each tee shot, picked up his tee and reload for the next shot.

The golfer, however, noted that he is still in "constant contact" with his doctors and trainers even until today.

With his fast recovery, Woods said he will continue to play to win. ''Expectations don't change. That's the ultimate goal. It's just that it's going to be a little bit harder this time. I just haven't had the amount of prep and reps that I would like. But I'm good enough to play, and I'm going to give it a go,'' said the golfer who said the British Open is what he has always targeted.

Scheduled from July 17 to 20 at Royal Liverpool, the British Open was the first major tournament that Woods competed after losing his father.

Sports World Report noted that Royal Liverpool is a place where Woods knows how to play and has won before.

But before thinking about the British Open, the golfer is expected to make a great comeback at the Congressional where ticket sales have doubled when Woods' return was announced.

According to Sports World Report, the PGA Championship could give the golfer a chance to get things on the "positive side" after dealing with a lot of things in the past year.

Asked how he will prepare for his next games despite his surgery and age, Woods said he now has to pick his spots and know his limitations.

''Before, when you're young, I just pushed it all the time. But now I've got to listen to my body, listen to my therapist and then get treatment. When I was younger, I didn't need it,'' he added.
