After a couple of busy months of working on her new album, the Colombian singer has taken the opportunity to take a break in the French countryside. The singer shared a picture where she appears with her firstborn, Milan, in a tender maternal moment with her fans across social networks.

The proud mother shared the image with her Twitter and Instagram followers rocking a radiant, makeup-free look while holding her son, who is almost eight months old. The picture's caption reads, "Finally in the tranquility of the French countryside!"

Despite her matherly duties and currently being in the process of composing and recording her new album, the Colombian singer has looked radiant in company of little Milan and her boyfriend, Gerard Piqué, a player of the Barcelona football club.

Shakira hasn't been able to escape being in the new; she recently captured headlines with the decision to countersue her ex-boyfriend, Antonio de la Rúa, accusing him of stealing close to three million dollars, according to the newspaper El Tiempo. She has also taken the time to write an article published in theHuffington Post, in which she expressed her opinion with regards to the importance of education.

But without a doubt what's pleased her followers the most are the samples of joy in this new stage of her life, in which she hasn't stopped sharing pictures of her recent maternity next to her firstborn and the Barca player.

In her article published in the Huffington Post, the singer commented on this new stage, saying that: "I'm finding that motherhood is a world of discovery, and I find myself in a constant state of awe watching Milan absorb the world around him at an astonishing pace. The first five years of life is when the brain grows at a rate that is unparalleled at any later stage in life. So why not give children the best fighting chance possible from day one?"
