Undefeated American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. has hinted on Thursday that he will let British boxer Amir Khan fight him in a bout he wishes to be done at the Wembley Stadium in London.

Mayweather Jr., who keeps a 46-0 record with 26 knockouts and 20 decisions, said he was stunned by the more than 80,000 people that showed up in the stadium at the rematch of Carl Froch and George Groves last Saturday, reported ESPN UK.

He also told the site that he "believes he can top the level of interest" of the people if his fight will also be held at the England capital.

In an interview with The Sun, Mayweather Jr. also mentioned that it has been his long-time goal to have a match in the UK. 

"I love all my fans in the UK and I want to go there and give a good show at Wembley before I retire. I plan to come in the near future," the boxer was quoted as saying.

There are news that the undefeated fighter is planning to fight Khan in September but that the latter declined the offer saying he will not be physically ready for the fight as he will be fasting for the Ramadan.

However, Khan expressed that his match against Mayweather Jr. will be the "biggest fight" in Britain and that they will surely sell out Webley. He added that it is also his dream to have a bigger fight in the UK.

"Floyd is boxing. Britain would shut down. It would be like the World Cup final of boxing," Khan told ESPN UK in a recent interview.

The 27-year-old boxer is a former holder of the WBA and IBF Light Welterweight titles. Last month, he defeated Luis Collazo in a dominant win when he played as undercard for Mayweather last month in Las Vegas during his fight against Marcos Maidana.

The former Olympic silver medalist also told ESPN UK that no other bboxer does it better than Mayweather. He also explained that in the UK, he is the only fighter in the country fit to face Mayweather Jr.

For his part, the American boxer told ESPN UK that he is confident that Khan will not break his winning streak. He noted that he respects his future opponent's record in boxing but said that "no one has the formula" to outclass him in any boxing match.
