Juan Pablo Gil is taking a break from his movie career to come back to TV.
The 24-year-old actor has been cast in the telenovela "Mi Corazón Es Tuyo" by Juan Osorio. He will be playing León, a poor boy who is in love with his boss' daughter, Fanny. Paulina Goto will play Fanny, and Jorge Salinas will play her father, according to C Fan Espectaculos.
"I began my career with CEA, with a lot of desire to be in television," he said. "The opportunity came to do movies and theater, and it went magnificently for me. I thought I would leave TV behind, but no. With 'Niñas Mal,' I was able to do TV. It was difficult. It's what has been most difficult for me, and I think that doing a telenovela with Televisa, with the opportunity to work with Juan Osorio, is a great challenge, and I like being challenged."
Gil is currently finishing up a movie called "A la Mala," where he stars alongside Aislinn Derbez, but will then switch focus and concentrate of "Mi Corazón Es Tuyo." He plans to keep busy as he also hopes to get a role in "La Leyenda del Diamante," which stars Jaime Camil.
The young actor started his career in 2010 in a stage production surrounding the life of Pedro Almodovar. Since then, he has jumped around from Televisa to MTV Latinoamerica and has a few projects under his belt in the four short years that he's been working.
