The notorious Ghost Killer will make a return in the next all-new episode of "Bones" on Monday, while Booth will consider taking a job promotion in Germany.

In the last episode, "The Cold in the Case," Booth was assigned to go over other agents' cases while Sweets was tasked to review Booth because it appeared that he is up for a promotion, reports the Examiner. However, Booth was not excited about the job offer since it would mean that he would have to uproot his family and move to Germany. He also told Brennan that the base is a staging ground for counterterrorism activity and covert operations, which means they might want him to be a sniper again. 

The upcoming episode, which is titled "The Nail in the Coffin," looks to be dramatic and intense based on clips seen in the official trailer. The promo begins as the remains of a body fall to the ground and interrupts a group of kids camping outside. When the Jeffersonian team investigates the body, they noticed that all of the victim's nails were ripped out. The FBI Deputy Director will also take a special interest in the high-profile case.

In the meantime, Booth will have to decide whether or not he will take a new job offer in Germany. According to TV Guide, Booth will is apprehensive about taking a promotion that might put him in the line of fire once again now that he has a new life and a family. "He's making sure he's not getting into something that he doesn't want to get into, but that turns out to be the least of it," said executive producer Stephen Nathan. Nathan added the reveal of the Ghost Killer's identity will come as a big shock and that it may, impact Booth's ability to refuse the new role. "It's an opportunity that he can't really turn down ultimately," Nathan says.

The synopsis of Episode 22 states, "Remains in a national park belong to the daughter of the wealthy McNamara family, and the investigation reveals she may have been murdered by the Ghost Killer and had a connection to a previous victim. Meanwhile, the case draws interest from the FBI's deputy director."

"Bones" S9E22, "The Nail in the Coffin," airs Monday, April 21 at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
