A Southwest Airlines flight attendant strayed from the typical flight attendant speech to give the passengers a bit of comedy before takeoff.

A video of the employee putting a sarcastically funny twist on the speech has gone viral on YouTube, gaining 1,227,522 views and counting.

"As you know, this is a no smoking, whining and complaining flight," she said, after making a joke about the lifesaver vests and the "disco lights" lining the floor to the emergency exits.

She also gives some solid advice in case there's a loss of cabin pressure.

"Stop screaming, let go of your neighbor, pull on that plastic tubing, cover your nose and mouth and breathe normally," she said. "To activate the flow of oxygen, simply insert 75 cents for the first minute."

But, she does say that Southwest can't help with everything.

"If you're traveling with small children, we're sorry."

In the end, she says: "Basically, just do what we say and nobody gets hurt."

And she's not the first Southwest Airlines attendant to gain national recognition from a viral video.

In 2009, a flight attendant decided to stray from the usual speech by channeling old-school '90s rap. First, he tells everyone to give him a beat by clapping and stomping. He then drops some perfectly-timed rhymes, to the surprise and delight of the unsuspecting passengers.

He ends with the line: "Thank you for the fact that I wasn't ignored/This is Southwest Airlines, welcome aboard."

His video has gotten 1.5 million views and counting.
