Critics are accusing Beyonce of editing a photo that she recently shared on her Instagram page to make her thighs appear slimmer.
In the picture, the 32-year-old singer is seen playing golf at an exotic resort in the Dominican Republic while wearing a two-piece bikini. Many seem to think Beyonce altered the photo so that it appears as if she has a "thigh gap," meaning that her thighs don't touch.
A lot of women who deal with eating disorders and body image issues fixate on having a "thigh gap," aso E! news notes.
According to writer Amelia McDonell-Parry of The Frisky, "Beyonce's (extremely toned, hard-working, bad a--, Blue-birthing) body doesn't usually have thigh gap."
"The slight wavy unevenness and a certain sharpness where there should be a natural curve indicate that the clone stamp tool was probably used to whittle down Bey's thighs and butt area," she wrote.
However, writers at Jezebel pointed out that because Beyonce had her Knees bent while hunched over in a golf squat, it may make for seemingly "slimmer" legs.
Her fans are also chimming in about the controversy. "Love you as you are - real. This s--tty photoshop is sad and disappointing, truly," wrote user @bonjourvieve in a comment on the photo. "really @Beyonce? we all love your thick thighs. NO reason to Photoshop a thigh gap in there.." @MariaBee added.
Beyonce has yet to respond to the debate. She and hip-hop mogul husband Jay Z are currently celebrating their sixth wedding anniversary with a tropical getaway to the Dominican Republic.
