Kate Del Castillo may be one of the most popular Mexican actresses, but she's done working on telenovelas.
Her sister, Verónica Del Castillo, explains why her sister got sick of working on the Spanish soap operas.
"No, she's not interested in telenovelas," she said, according to Terra. "Actually, she left feeling sick of them because after being the protagonist several times, she felt there was nowhere else to go. There is nothing more. So she started from the bottom once again. I'm very glad that everything worked out well for her, but I don't imagine that she'll be back."
Kate Del Castillo starred in "Muchachitas" in 1991 and "Azul" in 1996, but she has had success as a crossover star. She was Pilar Zuzua on "Weeds" and will voice a character in "The Book of Life."
Verónica Del Castillo also spoke about how she's adapting to being on "¡Al extremo!"
"It's a marvelous achievement," she said. "It's starting a new project, new forum, new scenery...I'm happy because I had 9 years experience with the format of this show. I got a warm welcoming, which I wasn't expecting; my coworkers and everyone at Azteca have made me feel at home."
She added that her sister has been extremely supportive of her switch from Univision to Azteca. Kate del Castillo actually echoed some of the same thoughts she had about telenovelas.
"'I realized that for some time you haven't been happy there," Verónica said her sister told her about "Primer Impacto" on Univision. "'They weren't using you to your full potential. It was like you were on the bench.' So, she felt that I was being used poorly and she didn't see me happy."
