24-year old Nicole Baukus was charged with two counts of manslaughter and one count of intoxication after a fatal car crash in 2012. Baukus, who was drunk, drove the wrong way down I-45 and collided with another car.

The car crash claimed the lives of two teenagers - Travis Saunders (18 years old) and Nicole Adams (19 years old). The crash also critically injured now 23 years old David Porras, who was with Saunders and Adams in the car. Earlier this month, new charges were filed against the 29-year old Kambiz Michael Duran who reportedly bought Baukus three shots of drinks which were drunk in a span of 10 minutes.

According to a report, Duran was charged right before Baukus was sentenced to 38 years in prison. "This morning an arrest warrant [was issued] for this individual for providing several of the drinks to Ms. Baukus that evening, and he will be facing criminal charges for his actions," said Oscar Williams, an agent of Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. In the surveillance camera video examined by the court, Baukus was seen to have consumed more than 20 alcoholic drink beverages in a 4-hour period along with three more shots of alcoholic beverage delivered to her by a white male at exactly 1:38am, 1:43am and 1:46am. The investigators also noted that Baukus was already clearly intoxicated by the time Duran delivered to her the last three shots of alcoholic beverages before the car crash.

Baukus changed her plea to guilty in the middle of the trial and was sentenced to 38 years in prison last August 2. It was later found out by Prosecutor Andrew James that Baukus lost her ex-boyfriend to an intoxicated driver and is now being the offender in the same scenario. KHOU reported that Baukus considered suicide. "I don't deserve to be here. I should have died in that crash also," Baukus said. "They did not deserve to die. I did. They were innocent."

On the other hand, Duran can be sentenced to prison for about a year with the new charges filed against him. He is currently serving time in Harris County Jail when sentenced to 180-day imprisonment for possession of marijuana last July 24. According to James, Duran will be issued a court date only after he has finished serving his current sentence.
