Kyrie Irving is reportedly firing back at reporters who suggested that he wants out of the Cleveland Cavaliers, reiterating during the weekend that he is happy in Cleveland, contrary to what recent reports suggested.

ESPN beat writer Brian Windhorst recently revealed in an interview that Irving is growing unhappy in Cleveland, saying that he doesn't like playing under coach Mike Brown and playing alongside Dion Waiters.

"The truth is [Kyrie's] camp has been putting out there for years - years - that he doesn't want to be in Cleveland," Windhorst wrote. "That they don't want him in Cleveland. He doesn't like Mike Brown. He didn't like Chris Grant. He doesn't like Dion Waiters. He's already gotten a General Manager fired. He might get Mike Brown fired."

When asked about the recent reports about his future in Cleveland, Irving said that he is growing tired of the negative publicity he is getting, reiterating that he is focused on helping the Cavaliers win and trying to end the season on a bright note.

"They're writing reports, 'Is he staying or is he going?' I mean that's the last of my worries right now," Irving said. "It's portraying me in a light and it is bringing negativity to the team that I don't want. Our focus right now and my focus right now is winning and trying to finish out the season strong."

Irving, who was drafted first overall in the 2011 NBA Draft, failed to make the playoffs in his first two seasons in the league, and is on the verge of missing the postseason again this year.

The 22-year-old point guard is averaging 21.3 points to go along with 6.3 assists and 3.7 rebounds.

Irving's numbers are impressive, but Irving is often criticized for failing to make his teammates look better, which is an NBA point guard's primary task.

"For a third-year player, it's been frustrating," Irving said. "No other third-year player is probably going through what I'm going through right now, which has been the most frustrating part. It's just gotten to a point where I needed to say something."

Irving, who still has two years left in his rookie contract after this season, could sign a maximum contract extension this summer.
