The doctors of Grey-Sloan Memorial may have had to fight off the flu in last week’s episode of “Grey’s Anatomy,” but this week they’ll be dealing with something much more exciting.

In this week’s episode, “I’m Winning,” Cristina (Sandra Oh) is nominated for the prestigious Harper Avery award. According to an ABC teaser, Cristina isn’t letting herself get too excited about the award despite her colleagues being “ecstatic.”

Meanwhile, Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Alex (Justin Chambers) continue to work with a young boy without an immune system. In last week’s episode the boy was isolated, but a preview for this week’s episode shows that he may have escaped isolation and may be at risk.

Alex will also be thinking of making a big change in his career. Last week, viewers saw him consider moving into a private practice. Chambers spoke to TVGuide about his character’s big decision. “Alex thinks, ‘Maybe I need to possibly think about joining a private practice,’” Chambers said. “He’s starting to see that he could profit a little more than he has.”

Derek (Patrick Dempsey) and Callie (Sara Ramirez) will be quite busy this week working with a machine that can recognize emotions, ABC teases. Richard (James Pickens Jr.) will also have his hands full as he “gives the residents a pep talk about the exciting projects going around the hospital.”

In other “Grey’s” news, TVLine is reporting that actress Kelly McCreary will be appearing on the penultimate episode this season. According to TVLine’s Ausiello, McCreary will portray a surgeon “who has a flirty bar date” with an unknown male doctor. Could Cristina finally have found Owen (Kevin McKidd) someone to date, or will intern Shane (Gaius Charles) start dating someone new?

McCreary recently starred in showrunner Shonda Rhimes’ other hit ABC series “Scandal” as passport-forging Clare, until she met her demise last week.
