Singing sensation Lorde is letting her millions of fans know that she too has beauty flaws, and it's perfectly "ok."

Over the weekend, the Grammy award-winning pop singer shared photos taken during her recent concert in Chile. One picture was retouched and showed her with smooth, picture-perfect skin, while the other showed off her natural beauty and unmasked her facial acne.

"i find this curious, two photos from today, one edited so my skin is perfect and one real. remember flaws are ok :-)," tweeted the 17-year-old New Zealand native on March 30 to her more than 1.3 million followers.

Since she posted the photo, it's garnered over 50,000 retweets and has been marked as a favorite over 72,000 times.

"Lorde took to social media to make sure her fans know that it's OK to embrace those flaws and imperfections and that those are a thing that everyone deals with," People magazine reporter, Patrick Gomez, told ABC News.

As a result, her fans also praised her courage to expose her imperfections.

"@lordemusic I love everything about you! Flaws and all! You're genuine and nothing is more bada-- than that!," wrote one fan named Abbeye Odom.

Another fan named Violeta tweeted: "@lordemusic actually when I saw you I thought your skin was really pretty, beautiful flaws :-)."

Other celebrities have also been vocal about the media's tendency to over-edit photos in search of perfection. In 2007, actress Keira Knightly protested a publicity photo for "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" that enhanced her breast size. Likewise, Kate Winslet criticized her 2003 British GQ magazine cover for trimming down her thighs.
