Things will get spicy between Elena and Stefan in the next all-new episode of "Vampire Dairies" as the two begin to share odd dreams about being intimate with one another.
Unfortunately, TVD fans will have to wait an extra two weeks to catch the upcoming episode, entitled "Resident Evil," which will make Stelena fans very happy. According to the promo video, Stefan and Elena will have vision-type dreams where they share romantic moments together and imagine what life would be like if they stayed together and had children.
"Something weird's going on," says Caroline to Damon over the phone in the 30-second promo. "Stefan and Elena are suddenly having vision-type situations of each other," she explains.
In one clip, Elena envisions herself flirting with Stefan while their kids play in the background. In another scene, the two share a hot and steamy makeout session on the kitchen counter.
In true Damon-like fashion, he candidly confronts his ex-girlfriend about the awkward dreams. "So, having sex dreams about my brother, huh?" he asks. "Wow, yeah, OK. That's one way to change the topic," Elena replies. "I just thought I'd skip the uncomfortable parts," Damon quips in response.
WetPaint reports that Caroline and Damon will work together to try to figure out what is up with these visions.
For fans wondering how the Stelena visions will affect the potential for Caroline and Stefan to hook up, actor Ian Somerhalder hinted that the couple might actually hit it off down the road at the PaleyFest panel when he called the two "pretty cute," reports WetPaint.
In the meantime, actress Candice Accola chimed in about the Stefan and Elena chemistry, telling Entertainment Weekly: "So there's definitely been speculation and some build up, and it would definitely be a bold choice for both of them to engage in any sort of romantic relationship given the friendship of Caroline and Elena and the history between Elena and Stefan. And so you never know what can happen in the future between these two characters, but I imagine it being very dramatic if anything were to happen."
Actor Paul Wesley also opened up about his character Stefan and the potential of him getting back with Elena. He told TVLine that that Stefan has "made peace" with Damon and Elena being friends with benefits, but "there are always residual feelings with anyone that you're ever with romantically."
TVLine's Ausiello added that Stefan and Caroline are going to spend a lot more time together, including one particularly steamy scene. Executive producer Julie Plec revealed, "They go on an adventure, there's a train car and it's cold outside. So what are a girl and a boy to do, but cuddle up for warmth?"
The official synopsis for "Resident Evil" reads:
"Both Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) are suddenly having unsettling dreams of an alternate version of the life they might have had together. Bonnie (Kat Graham) has a disturbing encounter with Grams (guest star Jasmine Guy), who warns her about frightening changes on the Other Side. Enzo (guest star Michael Malarkey) gives Damon (Ian Somerhalder) unwanted relationship advice, then admits he is searching for a woman he loved decades before while he was held captive by the Augustines. Liv (guest star Penelope Mitchell) enlists Matt (Zach Roerig), Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Tyler (Michael Trevino) to help track the Travelers and keep them from taking control of Mystic Falls. Bonnie is hurt and angry when she learns that Jeremy is working with Liv behind her back. Luke (guest star Chris Brochu) shows up at the Salvatore house and explains what he knows about Markos (guest star Raffi Barsoumian) and the Travelers to Damon, Elena and Enzo. Matt has a terrifying encounter with inhabitants of the Other Side. Finally, when Damon finds Markos, he is both relieved and disturbed by what Markos has to tell him."
As we get closer to the season of finale of TVD, Plec warns fans, "There are going to be a lot of goodbyes as we realize the other side is disintegrating. Not everybody is going to survive that. We're going to have to say goodbye to some characters that we've grown to love over the years. That's what we'll see when we get to the finale."
"The Vampire Diaries" S5E17, "Resident Evil," airs on the CW on Thursday, April 17 at 8 p.m. EST.
