A major character will not be returning to "Hawaii Five-0" next season.

Michelle Borth, who plays Catherine Rollins on the cop drama, will be exiting the series in season four, TVLine reports.

Borth has played Catherine since season one, and was promoted to series regular in season three. She will make her last appearance as McGarrett's (Alex O'Loughlin) colleague and lover at the end of the current season.

Executive producer Peter M. Lenkov told TVLine that the penultimate episode of the current season, which airs May 2, will be Borth's final episode. He said it will be a "big, dramatic" episode for Catherine and Steve, and will include "some flashbacks to [Catherine's] stint in the military."

While Borth will be exiting the series, a Bollywood star will be joining the show for a guest-starring spot.

Mallika Sherawat will guest star on the May 2 episode as Farah, a woman who has a history with Catherine, according to TVLine. In the episode, Farah's son is kidnapped by the Taliban, so Catherine and Steve go to Afghanistan to help her and her husband get their son back.

On the latest episode of "Hawaii Five-0" before its week-long hiatus, there was a murder, a kidnapping and an intriguing mystery box.

In "Ha lalo o ka ili" (Beneath the Surface), Danny's (Scott Caan) mother Clara (Melanie Griffith) is still visiting, and she has not heard from Danny's father in a month. Clara then makes a move and goes to see a divorce attorney. To stop the impending divorce, Danny sets up a recreation of his parents' favorite restaurant, and finally gets them to reconcile. They realize that they still love each other, so they call off the divorce proceedings.

Meanwhile, the case of the week focuses on a home invasion that goes awry.

A home is broken into, and a young girl named Kelly is kidnapped. Yet, when the team investigates, they discover the young girl faked photos of injuries that she self-inflicted to manipulate an ex-con into killing her father.

It's turns out Kelly had her father killed out of pure greed; she intended to live on her own off her father's life insurance money. However, she overlooks the fact that her father had let his life insurance policy lapse so he could start saving money for her college tuition.

In the end, the team uncovers her plan and she ends up behind bars.

Another mystery involves a red tool box that Jerry (Jorge Garcia) finds in Steve's garage. The tool box had been repainted in a different shade of red, which makes Jerry think that Steve is hiding something.

Jerry picks up the tool box and finds that there's a complex numerical code on the bottom. The numbers are geographic coordinates and a code name associated with Steve's mother, revealing that Clara was in Cambodia in 1968. Steve and Jerry eventually find out that the coordinates on the Cambodia map are a marker for an unidentified grave.

The mysterious tool box and unidentified grave foreshadows something foreboding and potentially dangerous that will unfold in upcoming episodes.
