Cristina contemplated her uncertain future on the latest episode of "Grey's Anatomy."

In "Do You Know," Cristina's (Sandra Oh) encounter with a patient who has to make a life or death decision sparks her contemplation about two possible scenarios: life with Owen and life without Owen.

In the first scenario, Cristina stays with Owen (Kevin McKidd), they get re-married and have a child. But because of having a baby, she has to give up the next stage of her research project to Shane (Gaius Charles).

Cristina later has a second child, which Owen is thrilled about, but Cristina is not. She gives up her larger career goals, and is forced to give a research award to Shane, which is an award she should be receiving.

In the second scenario, Cristina and Owen continue going down their rocky road of break-ups and make-ups until Cristina finally breaks it off. As a result, Cristina's career flourishes while Owen seeks solace in alcohol.

Owen is eventually let go from his job while Cristina receives multiple awards and achieves her career goals.

Back in real life, Cristina's patient decides to go off his ventilator, deciding to die rather than live the rest of his life attached to a machine.

Cristina is about to go speak with Owen when Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) interrupts, enlisting her help to deal with a new situation and ending the episode on a cliff-hanger.

On the next episode, "You Be Illin'," "The hospital gets inundated with flu infected patients, which causes the doctors to slowly fall ill one by one. Derek must fight off the sickness as he prepares to give a speech on brain mapping, and the residents place bets on who will fall ill first. Meanwhile, a new doctor at the hospital gives Alex a glimpse into an alternate form of medical practice."

In other "Grey's" news, series regulars Tessa Ferrer and Gaius Charles are not having their contracts renewed for next season.

Tessa Ferrer's Leah has been involved with Alex (Justin Chambers) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) on the series, and Charles' Shane has been romantically involved with Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton) and Cristina.
