Lil Boosie may have just moved into a new home in an upscale community in Louisiana, but neighbors are already complaining that the rapper is causing a commotion.
Residents within English Turn, an exclusive gated subdivision, reportedly complained after the formerly incarcerated hip-hop star threw a party for his mother's 60th birthday over the weekend. However, Boosie's mother, Connie Hatch, dismissed claims that her family was disruptive.
"It was just a small family gathering," Hatch told ABC affliated WGNO News.
She added that there were several parties during that weekend. "We're in this neighborhood just like everybody else, you understand. Just like everybody else have parties. We have parties too," she said.
She went on to say that she feels that her family is being unfairly "singled out."
Accoring to WGNO News, the complaints stem from minor parking violations and noise, and the association plans to issue a warning before sending out a notice.
Furthermore, neighbors are worried that the birthday party is a foreshadowing of what's to come now that Boosie lives in the area.
Earlier this month, Boosie was released from a Louisiana State Penitentiary after serving four years of an eight-year prison sentence for a drug conviction and probation violation. The rap star, whose real name is Torrence Hatch, has been incarcerated since 2009 after he pleaded guilty to third-degree possession of marijuana. Since then, he's faced a number of additional accusations, including a highly publicized murder trial in the 2009 killing of rap artist Terry Boyd, 35. However, Hatch was acquitted of first-degree murder in Boyd's death back in May 2012, according to MSN.
